My first thought is, if this will fly like a mile away, why would he stand in the rain getting both himself and his phone wet. Why not sit in the car and record out the window?
Sure... A drone that weights around 300g can lift nearly double its weight. :/ What were you expecting? When the 200g didn't work, you should have tried 100g instead, not 400!
ElevatedMotionPictures It's really funny when you understand both English and German so well you won't notice when he switches Sprachen mitten in the video😂
While the "testing" was juvenile, it did provide a visual demonstration on how the Spark flies with interference. This I'd not seen on any other video to date, and thank you. On an aside, with all the overwhelming advertising on RUclips, the last thing I want to be subjected to is even more advertising banners, I found the bottom one truly annoying, the removal of which in future videos would enhance the essence of the video and be much appreciated.
Like zac said, dji refresh, 59 dollars and then 2 replacement drones within 1 years for a 29 dollar deductible, if you need the second one it may be a slightly higher deductible, I can’t remember the exact details, from what I understood as long as you don’t lose the spark, as in you must have the drone or the pieces of it and they replace it for you up to two times.
always enjoy your review. I should have go with Spark, but Breeze was on sale. 2nd flight (total of 5 minutes), I switched to Orbit mode and it flew some 30 feet fast straight into wall. Broke prop, prop guard, bottom cover (broke the notch that hold the cover in place), broke the glass that covers the sensor, and broke the landing leg. I contacted the support and they told me to upload the flight data. That was about a month ago. No update, no response. Now it's just piece of plastic... 5 minutes of flight for $300. My P4 had never issue even when it hit a concrete ground. Not even a single prop damaged.
You have been reported to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Sparks :) Such a brave little drone! I've had mine for about a year - crashed it into a church tower, it spent the night on the roof in a rain storm; somebody rescued it for me the next day and it flew like a dream. Truly the greatest little drone ever.
Great video. I just bought one and I've never had a drone before. This really impressed me as to how sturdy they made it and how much punishment it can take!
when your charge the Spark with extra weight you should put the charge lower (farer from the propellers with a longer rope or wire to hold the extra weight). The air just underneath the propellers thrust the dron to get higher or keep it suspended in the air and it shouldn't be disrupted... I am pretty sure the drone can hold the extra 200g if you try this
Just a quick comment and something to think about... At the end you spoke about the barometer and how the Spark was not holding altitude or venturing sideways at hold. I think one could assume that it may be staying low when pulled down, staying high when pushed up, or moving from ground zero when pushed sideways, all as a fail safe from a possible obstacle. This could be viewed as flawed technology or a bonus to the SPARK. I for one see it as a plus for the sake of not moving back to zero if a obstacle has moved or changed its position.

Tom!! Thanks Bud I am new to the Drone world, so your videos save a lot of trial and error I love your Ideas at 3 for 3 that I've seen are literally making gold! Thanks Bud. For Making the best videos out there.
Regarding the payload test, I don't think the issue was the weight of the payload, because it was able to get some lift, it was the air resistance caused by the attached bag that caused problems. If you have that weight attached, but with a small additional surface area, it would probably be fine.
I feel like the last part of the video of him pushing the drone was almost like bullying at school. You could see the gratification on his face as he pushed the weaker drone... One day that drone will have its vengeance.
Thanks for testing expensive stuff, so that we can know exactly the durability and what it can be expected from the devices... Hope you get your ROI as you deserve... Good job!
This was a great video man! pretty surprised, especially with the branches... my mavic touched a couple of leaves and it fell out of the sky and broke the gimbal.

craigslist ad: extremely low flight time only flown once and put back in the box, never crashed or hard landed. i just dont have time to fly it anymore.😂😂😂😂😂
I love the Little Spark, Unfortunately I got it caught in a massive Rain storm on the first day flying it and it had no damage. I wiped it off and let it dry for a day before I used it again. The Wind is way wrong though. I took it up to 400 Feet during a Tropical Depression - No Rain at that moment, but did not have the Guards on. It Fought a 25 MPH wind with 40 MPH Gust. In Fact I often fly this drone in Gusty wind. Good Review, It is a quality drone for sure.
Hey Tom when you was flying the spark with a broken prop did it still fly okay after getting very wet when you put a new prop back on it? And i to am getting a spark any tips you think i will need to know? Thank you
Last week My DJI spark drone accidentally fell down from the bridge hight of 450feet while flying over the bridge and hit the rock and stopped flying that time .. I managed to find it .. I was surprised when I saw the drone was in pretty good shape and propellers were fine too .. but one led light lamp cover was missing.. I tried to fly it again and it has no problem Cover is not a big deal .. I have ordered already cost me $10 .. one thing is cleared.. DJI done good job to give good quality product
Even if it could lift that amount of weight the thrust from your propellers is shooting straight down onto your load which is counterproductive mechanically
Haha, these are low-end tests, Glad you did these for people who don't want to run their spark into a cliffside 100 feet off the ground though! I have had my DJI spark for 4-5 years now, Amazing little drone, especially for the price, I am sad to see it discontinued. that poor little drone was a trainer drone for me. I ran it into a tree 100 feet off the ground, and while the tree didn't break the drone, unfortunately, the fall when it was dislodged did. BUT for $60.00 I was able to replace the broken wings, the damaged motor, the infrared sensor, and its propellors. a second testament to this drone's durability is the cliffside I was mentioning at the beginning of this comment. while flying with low GPS, over a class 3 white water river, I was asked to step off the trail, looking away for just a moment to take a step backward, the GPS lost signal and the drone was caught by a gust of wind, slamming into the side of the cliff wall on the other side of the white water river. remarkably, this little drone while spinning out of control, managed to initiate an RTH, as the GPS signal reconnected, it moved back over the white water rapids and landed safely on my side of the canyon! with the only damage being to the broken propellor which hit the cliff wall.
I crashed mine in to the tops of some trees at full speed in sport mode. This was January in Alaska just outside Talkeetna where you can get a great view of Denali. There was about 8 feet of snow and the drone dropped pretty deep in, enough i could not find it. I was holding on to branches that are 10 feet in the air when no snow present just so i didn't sink too deep....i crawled around for 30 minutes and could not find it. I went back in mid April to see if i could locate it, and i could not due to snow. I went back again at the end of May and the snow was pretty much completely gone. To my surprise i found it! I turned it on and it had some juice but i could not get it to behave. I was not in to it that much so i shelved it. Fast forward nearly 3 years to today and i got the battery out of hibernation mode. I'm shocked it charges and works perfectly. I can attest they are quite durable, 4 months in Alaska winter and it comes out shining, I'm impressed.
I dropped my spark on the concrete from my hand about 4 feet up. It still flies n gimbal works perfectly but now where it tells me how high it is on the app it's it says I'm 8 feet when I'm 200 feet up but will tell me the correct hight some times. It also goes up and down when in a hover. It doesn't do it inside it's rock steady and I did an imu calibration, tried different firmware and still does this. I think it messed up the barmetor. Does anyone have any idea's?
@@rajgill7576 yeah I heard that also and I've tried that too. It's so odd how this happened after one drop. I'm glad it was just that and not the gimbal. Thank you very much for your time in trying to help!!!
Mine was stuck on a roof for 3 months before I could get it back. Through the rain season in Okinawa, when I got it back just had to charge and it works perfectly
What was achieved by adding more weight, to an already overburdened flight test? We would like to see how she flies with 50g and 100g; and include a duration test, which would be highly valuable information. Also we'd like to know how she flies with one blade missing (flying with a total of 7 blades) - as if one part of the propeller was destroyed in flight due to gunfire or laserburn. No kidding. Step one to kill the drone. Put it on sport mode and run it into a light pole. Broke 2 arms off mine. ;_;

Well it didn't work with 200 grams, so now let's test 700 grams. Cause that's logical.
Its GERMAN TTT Logic 😷
My thoughts exactly. I thought he was gonna decrease the weight to see what it could pull lol.
